The Role of the Family in the Transition Process

Introduction

There will be a time when a special education teacher on the secondary level will be actively involved in the Transition process for a student who will eventually be aging out of school. As part of this process, it will be very important for you to help parents understand their responsibilities that will help their child successfully move through this period in their lives. This Parent Teacher Conference Handout will provide guidelines for  parents involved in the transition process in order to facilitate their child’s successful transition to the adult world.
